NEURO-MUSCULAR THERAPY

Neuromuscular therapy is a form of soft tissue mobilization used to alleviate chronic muscle and nervous system disorders. Its aim is to remove trigger points, improve circulation, release nerve compression, correct postural problems and repetitive movement injuries. The purpose of neuromuscular therapy is to isolate the source of pain and alleviate it.

Neuromuscular therapy works by addressing:

Trigger Points – Trigger points are highly irritable points in the nervous system that show up as knots in the muscles.

Nerve Entrapment/Compression – When a nerve gets pressed between the surrounding structures it can lead to chronic pain.

Repetitive Movement Injuries – Result when muscle imbalances develop due to overuse of a subset of muscles. The overuse leads to reactive muscles which become tight, fatigued, and sore.

Nutrition – Like every tissue in the body, nerves and muscles require adequate hydration and nutrition to keep up with the demands placed on them. Poor hydration status or nutrient imbalances can lead to neuromuscular dysfunction.

Stress – Stress wreaks havoc with the nerves and muscles. Relieving chronic tension helps reduce overactive nerve stimulation. When the nervous system is at ease muscles relax.

Neuromuscular Therapy is used to assist the healing of: Chronic Pain, Sciatica, Rotator Cuff Dysfunction, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Back Pain, Migraines, and other musculoskeletal injuries.
